Shah Cement Industries Limited is sponsoring Formula Four
car racer Mahfuzur Rahman Tushar. Tushar will compete in the upcoming 16 JK
Tyre Racing Competition Formula LGB Four scheduled to be held in Delhi of India
from November 27 to December 1.
Formula One is a car race, which is one of the most
challenging sports in the world. There are at least one car racer of the
countries of the whole world are taking part in the Formula One car race. Even
a competitor from India is also taking part in this sports event.
Mahfuzur Rahman Tushar has a dream to participate in the
Formula One car race. Mahfuzur Rahman Tushar will go to Delhi on November 27
and will take part in the Formula Four car race.
Marking the sponsorship deal between Mahfuzur Rahman Tushar
and Shah Cement Bangladesh Limited a press conference was held at the
Dutch-Bangla Bank Auditorium of Bangladesh Olympic Association Bhaban on
Sunday. Deputy-Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association Ashiqur
Rahman Miku, Senior Brand Manger of Shah Cement Bangladesh Limited Ahsan Jewel
and Mahfuzur Rahman Tushar were present at the conference. Tushar said, "I
got inspiration when I watch the German Car Racer Michael Schumacher. My father
wanted that I were an Islamic scholar. Though I failed to fulfill his desire
but I want to be a Formula One car racer in future."
Ashiqur Rahman Miku said, "I know that Tushar could not
take part in the practice session in Bangladesh as there is no car racing track
in Bangladesh. If Tushar appeal to us, we will manage a car racing track for
his practice."

Tushar, 24. Who is the first Bangladeshi to take part in Formula series Racing
Being born and raised in Dhaka, Tushar's love for speed and
cars started from an early age. However, it was not until he saw the legendary
Ferrari driver, Michael Schumacher, that he found the true purpose of his life.
Nevertheless, this love for speed and cars had to overcome to various problems.
Why into racing? How did it all started? Who motivated you
all this way?
In 2007, I registered at "World Cyber Games Bangladesh'
for the NFS Carbon completion but unfortunately, I failed to qualify for the
second round; other players sitting there were pointing fingers and laughing at
me. That was the time when I vowed to try and be a real a racer someday. By the
end of 2007, I was finally able to find a racing competition institute which
was located in Tamil Nadu, India. With permission from my family, it was in
January 2008 that I was finally able to go to India for go-kart championship.
However, just after reaching Chennai, I found the institution changed their
location but no one around there knew about their new location. So, I had no
other options left other than coming back to Dhaka with broken dreams.
2010, I attended the
monthly Go Kart Competition at Fantasy Kingdom where I stood 2nd Runner-up out
of 11 participants. Again in 2011 I registered for Go Kart Competition at
Fantasy Kingdom where I stood 1st out of 150 participants and became the
"Speed Racing Go Kart Track Master" - my first glimpse of turning my
dreams into reality!
What is your current state?
In 19th October 2011, I Googled around "formula racing
series competition near Bangladesh" and eventually came up with the
appropriate answer for my question "16 JK Tire National Formula 4 Racing
Competition in India by FMSCI". Then I went over to that link and found
the contact person of Federation Motor Sports Club of India (FMSCI).
Just after getting in touch with them, they offered me to
participate in Go Kart Racing Championship and to my utter surprise after
participating I even qualified for the Formula 4 Racing Competition. However,
my dream started fading when reality hit me due to my financial crisis; I was
unable to join to the race. Fortunately, during November 2013, with the
sponsorship of Shah Cement I took the opportunity to take part in Formula 4
Racing Competition - 16 JK Tyre Racing Championship 2013, where I finished in
15th in a field of 22 at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC).
What did you drive in the 16 JK Tyre Racing Championship
2013?
My formula racing car had a top speed of 200km/hr and 100
brake horsepower, which was equipped with a Maruti Esteem MPFI 1300CC engine. I
was part of "Team Avalanche" with three other drivers being the sole
Bangladeshi racer there.
You are the one and only racer of the country would you
ever take any attempt to start Formula Racing here in Bangladesh?
Definitely, I am trying to provide a platform for
Bangladeshi street racers. I want street racers to take Formula Racing as a
career not just a passion. We, as Bangladeshis always put limitations on
ourselves due to legal structure but it's time to think outside the box.

Tushar to take part in Round-3 of Formula 4 competition
DHAKA, Oct 6: Mahfujur Rahman Tushar, the first formula
racer from Bangladesh, is all set to take part in the Round-3 of the Formula-4
competition titled the 17th JK Tyre Racing Championship-2013, scheduled to be
held in New Delhi from November 27 to December 1. The Bangladeshi lad has
already finished the Round-1 and 2, which were held at Kari Motor Speedway in
Chennai, India on July 19 and August 13 respectively.
Tushar captured 11th place to compete against 23 racers from
different countries of the world in the Round-1 of the Formula 4 titled the
16th JK Tyre Racing Championship at Madras Motor Sports Club this year.
The 25-year-old Tushar qualified for this single seat open
wheel class-enabled car racing Formula-4 competition in 2012.
"I had a fascination to be a car racer from my
childhood when I used to play this sort of games in my computer. But I was
hugely motivated and inspired when I watched Formula-1 competition on
television, where the legendary Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher outmatched
his Ferrari rivals Rubens Barrichello and Juan Pablo Montoya to become the
champion of British Grand Prix in 2002.,' said Tushar at the Bangladesh Olympic
Association (BOA) on Sunday. Shah Cement Industries Ltd is sponsoring his participation
in the Delhi meet.
"We're with the promising youngster of the country.
We'll bear the entire expenditure of the tour though we've dealt with Tushar
for one year. We'll renew sponsorship contact every year in need," said
Ahsan Jewel, brand officer (supervisor) of Shah Cement Customer Care.
Bangladesh Olympic Association secretary general Ashikur Rahman Miku and
programmed coordinator Masud Rana was also present.

Shah Cement Industries Ltd have come forward to sponsor the first formula racer
from Bangladesh, Mahfujur Rahman Tushar for the upcoming '16 JK Tyre Racing
Competition Formula LGB 4 Round 4' in Delhi.
A press conference was called to announce the details at the
Dutch Bangla Bank auditorium on Sunday.
Formula 1 is also known as Motorsport across the globe and
is one of the most pulse- racing and costly sports in the world. I participated
for the first time in the '16 JK Tyre Racing Competition Formula LGB 4- Round 1
& 2' and grabbed 11th spot out of 22 competitors. If I can do that without
any helping hand, I can place myself in the top five of the up- coming rounds
for sure,' said Tushar who went on to reveal that German motor-racing leg- end
Michael Schumacher was his role model in F1 racing.
Tushar acknowledged his gratitude towards his sponsor Shah
Cement Industries Ltd. and is hopeful that it will boost him to perform better
in the future.

Vishnu and Hataria continue their Dominance in round 2
Coimbatore: Sarosh Hataria was informed late on
Saturday that his win in the race 2 of the LGB Formula 4 category did not stand
and was under probe due to technical infringements in the car. But On Sunday at
Kari Motors Speedway, he was not ready to sit and brood over it.
He was in battle-mode, both on the track and off it. The
Coimbatore driver displayed controlled aggression en route to winning the final
race on Sunday in the LGB Formula 4 category of the JK Tyre Racing
championship. He has appealed against the Saturday 'dis-qualification' to the
FMSCI and the federation is expected to take a call in two weeks. The results
of the first two races in the category have been withheld till then.
The drama on the track was no less. Fortunes swung wildly
till the last lap of the race that had Ameya Bafna starting on pole. Mahfujur
Rahman Tushar of Bangladesh started on pole in the final race of the formula 4
category with Hataria on P2. Even as pole sitter Bafna and Hataria were engaged
in grueling battle for the lead, the race was red flagged in the ninth lap as
Mahfujur Rahman Tushar skidded, hit the sidewall and flipped over on the track.
The driver from Bangladesh was unhurt.
Soon after the race resumed, an unlucky Bafna had to retire
due to engine trouble. Hata- ria took the lead even as Vishnu Prasad and Sa-
ran Vikram kept closing in. In the final lap, out of nowhere, Karthik Krishna
came within touching distance of the trio. In a haste to over- take, Kartik's
wheel touched Vishnu's and further hit second-placed Saran's car. Saran spun
and Vishnu's right rear wheel got affected. Hataria, who was a car's length out
of trouble sped past and crossed the chequered flag. Karthik, who crossed
third, was given a 30-second penalty and was pushed to eighth place.
Vishnu, meanwhile completed a clean sweep in the newly
launched JK series for FB-O2 cars. Starting on pole, Chennai-lad Vishnu surged
ahead and made the best timing in the opening lap itself. From then on, he
built on his lead to finish almost six seconds ahead of Bangalore's Akhil
Rabindra. The next race, however, saw Vishnu being given a stiffer com-
petition by 15-year-old Arjun Maimi. The toughest battle was in the last lap
with Chittesh joining the fight for the top position. "If Vishnu had to
keep looking at his rear-view mirror to keep a tab on me, I had to look both in
the front and back. We were that close," Maini summed up the close battle.
In the end, Vishnu held on and took his fourth win of the weekend.
In a fairly incident-free Race 1 of the JK Tyre VW Polo R
Cup, South African driver Jeffrey Kruger started on pole accompanied by
Prashant Tharani and Yatin Magu. Tharani, whose posters flashed all the way to
the racing track, took an early lead and maintained it till the end, with
Kruger and Rahil Noorani completing the podium.
The next round will be held in New Delhi while JK Tyres also
has plans of holding a night race in Colombo sometime in December.
Motor racing is a sport which most Bangladeshis can only
watch on TV screens. There is no infrastructure here for the sport, and lack
financial resources and sponsor- ship makes this sport an unimaginable passion
to pursue.
But one young man's passion, with a little help, has driven
him to defy all the odds. Mahfujur Rahman Tushar, a young man from a non
descript family in Dhaka, is embarking on the fourth round of Formula 4 which
will be held New Delhi India from November 27 to December 1. Once dis-
qualified and one having left due to lack of funds, Tushar kept persisting with
his passion.
"My parents admitted.
me to Madrasa but I had immense interest about motor cars
and I switched to automobile education after completing my madrasa studies (SSC
equivalent). Now I am a Formula 4 driver," said the young man from
Bangshal.
Tushar, who developed his interest in racing after taking
part in the online world cyber game, finished 11th out of 22 racers in the
first round of 16 JK Tyre Racing Championship in July 17-19 before crashing out
in the second round, having completed seven out of 15 laps, each lap being 2.2
km long.
Tushar has clocked 175kmph and took only 1:15.527 seconds to
complete a lap (2.2km) during his first round competition in India with his
Maruti Esteem MPFI 1300 CC.
But financial constraints had all but put paid to Tushar's
'dreams. However, Tushar has now found a benevolent partner in Shah Cement
Industries Ltd, which has vowed to provide him all the support in his latest
venture.
"We always give priority to youth as we did it for
Everest conquer Musa Ibrahim. As part of our preference, we came forward to
help Tushar and we will provide all the assistance to him whenever he takes
part in racing championships," said senior brand executive of Shah Cement,
Masud Rana at a press Tushar, who developed his interest in conference

Mahfuzur Rahman Tushar is the Bangladesh's very first envoy in Formula Four,
but if his provenance is studied, it is perhaps surprising that Bangladesh has

Born and raised in Dhaka, Tushar's love affair with cars and
speed started at an early age. During the 2002 Grand Prix season at
Silverstone, the legendary Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher became the
champion of British Grand Prix by beating his other Ferrari team mates, Rubens
Barrichello and Juan Pablo Montoya, motivating Tushar to participate in the
formula series racing Tushar's first impression of driving came when he was
only 13 years old, where he was asked by his father to park their car safely
near his grandfather's residence in Gazipur. He is a natural when it comes to
driving. He learnt to manipulate the vehicle by seeing how his driver
maneuvered it earlier
Being the son of a pious Muslim, Tushar spent about nine
years of his childhood studying at a city madrassah, from where he completed
his Dakhil (SSC equivalent) in 2006. "Though I had spent years abiding by
the strict rules of madrassah, I managed to find ways to stay in close touch
with cars and the racing world," Tushar said while narrating his
experience. He later joined Dhaka Polytechnic Institute to obtain a Diploma in
Automobile Engineering. He completed his graduation in 2011.
His pursuit for Formula Series racing began in 2007, when he
came back from the World Cyber Games Championship empty handed. That is when he
took a vow to become a Racing Legend. He went to the Google search engine and
searched for "Formula series racing near Bangladesh" Much to his
delight there was a racing track situated in the provinces of Tamil Nadu. He
jumped on the case and set off for India. His happiness was short-lived when he
figured out that the race track has been re-located to a new spot. Tushar
didn't give up just yet.
Perhaps close proximity to the inner demands and an
attraction as pervasive as motor racing, was what kept Tushar going. He
participated in monthly Go-Kart racing, at Fantasy Kingdom near Ashulia. In
2010, he became the second runner up for the competition and that was only the
beginning. In 2011, he became the "Speed Racing Go-Kart Track Master
champion. Tushar stood first amongst 300 other participants from throughout the
country. Fuelled by his recent victory Tushar decided to look for another shot
at his dream of becoming a Formula 1 driver. He repeated the same search
process in Google. The The results returned with "16 JK Tyre National
Formula racing in India by FMSCI This led Tushar to the FMSCI website.
Like many other young talents, Tushar had to overcome
obstacles in his journey 2012 was a year of calling for him, he obtained the
necessary training and passed the qualifying round held in Chennai for the
Formula 4 competition but due to a shortage of funds, he could not participate
in the expensive racing event the same year. His affection for motor racing
faced a massive blow to the face yet again. Nevertheless, this did not
discourage Tushar from trying harder and making it happen for himself.
2013 became the year when everything for Tushar changed. A
local company stepped forward to sponsor him. Tushar flew to India to attend
the Formula 4 competition titled 17th JK Tyre FMSCI Racing Championship-2013,
took place at the Kari Motor Speedway, Chennai, from July 19-21. Tushar
competed against 23 racers and represented Madras Motor Sports Club. He
finished in the 11th position.
Formula 4 is a platform which helps drivers aiming for the
upper tiers like F2 and F3 to gain experience.
Initially organized in England, it is now being held in a
few countries including India, Malaysia and Singapore. It is an introductory
stage for Formula 1, the most expensive motor racing event. Only a handful of
qualified racers from F4 can participate in F3 and following the same line of
action, one can step up to enter F2. Only the top three winners of an F2
competition are eligible to take part in F1.
This Bangladeshi racer is determined to bring glory to his
country through participating in the upcoming events. He hopes to make it to
the prestigious Formula 1 championship within the next five to six years.
Subsequently, he wants to establish a motor racing association in Bangladesh,
which would come in handy for training aspirant racers. He anticipates that
with time, the government and other private organizations will also become
interested. in holding motor racing competitions in Bangladesh, "Narain Karthikeyan
is the first Indian F1 racer and the main reason behind F1 taking place in
India. I wish to see the same happen in my country soon," Formula 4 is a

How it all began
`In 2002, on TV. I watched F1, where the legendary Ferrari
driver Michael Schumacher became the champion of British Grand Prix by beating
his other Ferrari team-mates, Rubens Barri chelloo and juan Pablo Mon toya.
That’s when I became motivated to participate in Formula series and become a
legend in racing’ says Tushar, the aspiring and am bitious racer while
recalling his early days.
Tushar sat behind the steering wheel at a very young age and
on one occasion, he managed to park the car safely near his grandparents'
residence in Gazipur. He learnt to manipulate the vehicle by watching his
driver maneuver the car earlier.
In 2011, he became the champion of the Speed Racing Go Kart
Track Master 2011, a national racing competition that amassed 300 participants
from all over the country. Although in Bangladesh, the speed limit of Go Kart
is set quite low, winning the competition fueled the fire to chase my dream. It
was a milestone in my life,' said Tushar.

TUSHAR, like many other young talents had to over- come

qualifying round held in Chennai for the F4 competition, but due to a short age

aspiring racers of the country. He hopes that the government and private
organizations will become interested to hold motor racing competitions in
Bangladesh. Narain Karthikeyan is an F1 racer from India. He is largely the reason
F1 started happening in India. I wish to see that happen soon in my country,'
says Tushar with his fingers crossed.

Mahfujur
Rahman Tushar all of a sudden became the center of attraction in the sports
arena when he drove his name into the F4 racing arena. He can be dubbed as a
role model of the young generation as his relentless hard work helped him
achieve his goal of reaching the Formula circuit. He struggled hard to obtain a
sponsor and learnt his trade himself, but he never looked back and remained
focused to materialize his dream and became the first F4 circuit driver of the
country.
Tushar,
who won the Go-Kart championship in the country and is also a diploma holder in
car engine maintenance, finished 11th in the first round of the Formula four in
Chennai, but sadly due to shortage of funds, the 24-year-old driver may not be
able to take part in the second round. The race was held at the Kari Motor
Speedway in Chennai, India, between July 19-21 and Tushar, who qualified for
the fourth level of the Formula series last year, drove for Madras Motor Sports
Club and competed against 22 others from India and England.
Later
in November, the F4 driver found a sponsor in Shah Cement and went to the 16th
JK Tyre Racing Championship in Delhi. He finished 15th in a field of 22 at the
Buddh International Circuit.
With
no practice facilities in the country Tushar struggles to raise his standards,
but still, he remains confident of progressing further with his sheer

He finished 11th in the First round of the Formula four in
Chennai
Mahfuzur Rahman Tushar, the first
Bangladeshi to participate in the Formula competition, finished 11th in the
first round of the Formula four in Chennai and due to a shortage of funds, the
24-year-old driver may not be able to take part in the second round.
The race was held at the Kari Motor Speedway in Chennai, India between
July 19-21 and Tushar, who qualified for the fourth level of the Formula series
last year, drove for Madras Motor Sports Club and competed against 22 others
from India and England.
Tushar did enough to qualify for the second round which will begin in
August but the Bangladeshi racer is now short of funds and seeking sponsorship.

Tk150.000 in sponsorship money for the second round. I don't know where I could
get the money," said Tushar.
Despite qualifying for the Formula four, Tushar could not participate in
the race last year due to shortage of funds. raised my own fund from family and
friends for the first round. But now the major problem is Tk 150.000. No
sponsors yet. The amount is too much for me but not for the sponsors. So, if
anyone comes forward to make my dream true, I can assure I will fight till the
